Hazel Green Ministries have been set up for the sole purpose of sharing GOD's love with everyone that may pass through our gates. We are based in Wolfe county Kentucky in the small town of Hazel Green. Hazel Green sits geographically in the center of the Appalachian Mountains. The region throughout the Appalachian mountain chain is known as one of the poorest and most unchurched regions in the United States. Wolfe County, KY has an approximate 90% unchurched population. This Statistic means that about 90% of the people residing in Wolfe county do not know Jesus Christ as their Lord and Saviour. Wolfe County also has an average income for a family of 4 of about $17,000 per year. This places Wolfe county as one of the poorest counties in the USA.
The main purpose of the ministries at Hazel Green is to show people that they need Jesus Christ if they are to have any hope. God changes peoples hearts and through that change He can make a difference in their lives. We strive, through the assistance of mission teams, Churches, and individuals, to find very real methods of touching people's hearts and lives so that we can share the truth of the Good News with them. The Good News that Jesus Christ loved us enough to suffer and die on the cross so that the penalty for our sins could be paid as only He could pay it. The Good News that His death was not the end but only the beginning. The beginning of His eternal Kingdom when on the third day He rose from the grave to take control of His Kingdom. The Good news that He is preparing for us a place in heaven so that we may spend eternity with Him. The simple truth that salvation is simple. You must believe that Jesus Christ, the son of GOd, died so that you could be forgiven, and is the way, the truth, and the light.
